Starfish Greathearts Foundation focuses on supporting orphaned or vulnerable children in South Africa through partnerships with community-based organisations. Their primary emphasis is on delivering healthcare services to rural South Africa, particularly targeting children orphaned by HIV and TB.

 

In 2018, we collaborated with Starfish Greathearts Foundation to support the Wellness Wagon mobile clinic, designed to reach communities lacking state healthcare provision.

 

Our contribution involved funding the purchase of a minivan and collaborating with a London architect to create a vibrant and inspiring interior, encouraging children to participate in health checks onboard.

 

The Wellness Wagon addresses challenges in accessing healthcare in these communities, including long queues at health facilities, insufficient staffing and medical resources, and school absenteeism due to lengthy travel to health facilities.

 

It provides essential services such as HIV testing, TB screening, general health screening, health education, distribution of emergency aid parcels, and other healthcare services.
