MAMA

Maternal Aid for Mothers in Africa, known as MAMA, was founded in 2017 and aims to reach mothers in remote or marginalised communities in Kenya, providing maternity, birthing and child health information and support to mothers.  MAMA’s focus is ‘health, wellness and sustainability’, so in addition to helping mothers, it also aims to develop health worker skills to ensure long-term support and expertise is available. 

We began planning with MAMA in 2020. Despite delays due to Covid, we worked together to establish a purpose-built maternity clinic in Kenya in a rural area where access to maternity and child healthcare is limited and often requires a lengthy walk.
